Course Description

Study program: Environmental Engineering (IV semester -OAS), Mining Engineering (IV semester -OAS), Petroleum Engineering (IV semester -OAS)

Name of subject: Thermodynamics

Instructors: Dr Marija Živković, Aleksandar Madžarević

Status: Compulsory

Prerequisites: -

Course Objectives: The aim of the thermodynamics is to study and investigate thermal energy and the laws of energy transformations, as well as to study thermodynamic properties of real systems. Thermodynamic principles should be adopted and applied to the control mass and control volume processes.

Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of the course, a student understands, analyzes and solves problems with ideal gas, vapour or moist air. Students can calculate properties of the state, understand and analyze characteristic diagrams, calculate work, heat, efficiency, heat losses, temperature in the characteristic points, as well as to apply the mass and energy balances.
